Cheryl Cole turned down 'The X Factor' the first time Simon Cowell offered her a position as a judge, it has been revealed.

The 27-year-old singer - who is mentoring Rebecca Ferguson, Katie Waissel, Cher Lloyd and Treyc Cohen in the ITV1 show - has revealed she told the music mogul she would not accept the 'X Factor' job "for all the tea in China".
