Embarrassed presenter announces wrong 'Top Model' winner live on air
A TV presenter in Australia has caused a model muddle after she crowned the wrong woman as the winner live on air.
The host of 'Australia's Next Top Model' told a TV audience that Kelsey Martinovich had won the show. But after the 19 year-old had already made her acceptance speech, horrified presenter Sarah Murdoch realised she had read the wrong result.
"It's OK," said Martinovich. "It's an honest mistake. It's all right Sarah. It's fine!"
Amanda Ware won the first prize of a $25,000 (€17,839) contract with Levi's, a new car, $20,000 (€14,272) cash and a spread in Australia's Harper's Bazaar magazine.
Red-faced producers have offered Martinovich a $25,000 (€17,839) consolation prize however, as well as allowing her to travel with Ware to meet executives at Elite Model Management in New York.
