Some of the biggest names in music are feeling the effects of the global economic downturn.

Already this year, Christina Aguilera, The Eagles and Rihanna have had shows cancelled in the States because ticket sales have dropped by 17%.

Promoters have been accused of charging too much, including by Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden, who said that ticket prices had been inflated to "obscene" levels.

He added: "It's just not right...Fans deserve a reasonable ticket price."
