Sunshine evicted from 'Big Brother'

Medical student Sunshine became the third person to be evicted from the 'Big Brother' house.

The 24-year-old from Peterborough, Cambridgeshire – also known by her real name, Yvette – lost the public vote to Shabby and Caoimhe.

She smiled as she emerged from the house last night to cheers from the crowd.

Sunshine said she thought she had been nominated by her fellow housemates for “not sharing my crisps” in a row host Davina McCall dubbed “crisp-gate”.

Talking about the reaction from the crowd, Sunshine added: “I thought it would be worse, so I thought that was alright.”

Sunshine received 42% of the votes cast, with McCall telling her that it was a closely fought race between her and Dubliner Caoimhe – who was flirting with film-maker Shabby in recent days.

Before she left the house, fellow housemate Ben had to perform a 90-second stand-up routine to the Big Brother crowd to win a luxury shop for the house.

Viewers had to wait five minutes to see his efforts however, as a technical fault led to transmission of the programme being cut.

The Channel 4 announcer apologised to viewers for the loss of the picture at the end of the programme, saying a power failure at Elstree Studios was to blame.

Ben, 30, told jokes about mobile homes and having similar hair to Margaret Thatcher in the routine which went down well with the crowd, leading to him winning the task.

The performance, to coincide with International Joke Day, was also a punishment for Ben failing a task during the show, which has been running for three weeks.

It was revealed after his successful debut as a comedian that writer Ben will today face his “day from hell”.

He is being punished for letting slip that he had been talking to the Tree of Temptation in the Big Brother bathroom.

The tree told him to carry out a secret arm wrestling and street slang test, later ordering him to get elected as the house stand-up comedian when he failed.

The Channel 4 reality show is in its final series.
