Walters wants Corrie role
Julie Walters is desperate to star in 'Coronation Street'.
The actress - who won a BAFTA for her portrayal of late politician Mo Mowlam in Channel 4 drama 'Mo' - says she would love a guest role in the ITV1 soap and currently working on ideas for producers.
She Daily Express newspaper: "I used to work up at the Granada Studios where 'Coronation Street' is filmed. If there's a change in the plot and if there's something I could do, it wouldn't take much for the powers that be in 'Coronation Street' to get me on.
"I was once on a talk show when I was asked about playing Audrey's sister. What a good idea! Nothing came of that."
Although 'Coronation Street' is her favourite, Julie, 60, is a huge fan of any soap and admits she has become addicted to them in the past.
She said: "I am addicted to soaps. I had to give them up for Lent as I am such a big fan. When I went on the set of 'EastEnders' I could hardly speak."
