Elton John to appear in Morocco despite Islamic opposition

Elton John is to headline a music festival in Morocco, despite protests from Islamic political parties.

The openly gay musician has agreed to top the bill at the Mawazine World Rhythms Festival - which takes place from May 21 in the North African country’s capital, Rabat – provoking fury among Muslim groups who insist he should not allowed to enter the country because of his sexuality.
