Actor Connery 'facing questions over land deal'

Former 'James Bond' star Sean Connery is to be questioned regarding a property deal in the Spanish city of Marbella, reports said today.

Spanish media said Connery and his wife Micheline Roquebrune are to be called to a court regarding matters related to the sale of an estate in the area.

For 20 years, Connery holidayed at Malibu, his lavish southern seaside property in Marbella. After its sale in 1998 a block of 70 apartments was built on the spot.

Madrid and Marbella lawyers Diaz-Bastien & Truan – whom press reports said represent the actor – said their offices in both cities were raided on Wednesday by Treasury inspectors but declined to confirm if Connery was a client.
