Cowell to quit ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ - report

Simon Cowell is reportedly quitting ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.

The media mogul – who stars on the UK reality show alongside fellow judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden – is reportedly planning on quitting ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ the year after he launches ‘The X Factor’ in the US because he is so frustrated with who is being putting through to the final stages of the auditions.

Last night, a source told The News Of The World newspaper: “Piers and Amanda take great joy in saying yes to performers they know Simon will hate but it hasn’t gone down well. He’s annoyed they’re putting through acts that shouldn’t even be on TV, let alone in the final stages of the world’s leading talent contest.”

In three previous auditions, Amanda and Piers have put through five acts - including ship entertainer Kevin Cruise - which Simon wanted out.

The media mogul now allegedly plans to veto next year’s audition shows by only appearing from the live semi-final stage.

The source continued: “Simon has just had enough of them messing about and not seeming to take it seriously – that’s why he’s off. He feels he has more important things to do in life.”

One act the judges were all agreed on this week however was 14-year-old Olivia Archbold who gave a note-perfect rendition of Sarah McLachlan's 'In The Arms Of An Angel'.

After her performance, Simon said: “You sang that so well, you really made that song your own. I am so, so impressed with you Olivia, that I can’t even tell you.”

Amanda added: “Spell-binding. Such a lovely, professional and quality performance.”
