Awful 'Shelter' goes nowhere

Two directors couldn’t bring this mixed-up plonker home safely, nor could a curiously cast Meyers bring off a character suffering from multi-personality disorder since he has been given no chance by a dreadful script to show a personality of any kind.

Directors: Mans Marlind/Bjorn Stein

Cast: Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Julianne Moore

Cert: 16

Two directors couldn’t bring this mixed-up plonker home safely, nor could a curiously cast Meyers bring off a character suffering from multi-personality disorder since he has been given no chance by a dreadful script to show a personality of any kind.

Such as it is, the story sees Moore as a psychiatrist, a single mother whose husband has been murdered, treat the confused, in all respects, Meyers.

It’s a grim, atmospheric film but a film that goes nowhere and leaves its stars stuck in a bewildering limbo.

Star Rating: 1/5
