Catherine Zeta-Jones always wears make-up so she doesn't let her fans down.

The Oscar-winning actress wants tries to look her best when she runs household errands and gets her six-year-old daughter Carys to check she looks as glamorous as she does on the big screen.

She said: "I don't always go for glamour but even if I am going to the supermarket I couldn't go out without doing my best. If people recognise you, they like you to look as they would hope. You owe it to people to look nice when you go out.

"Carys always gives me the once-over before I go out. She is totally truthful and if she doesn't like what I'm wearing she tells me."

The 40-year-old beauty has also admitted she only exercises to help combat her penchant for crisps and salmon.

She explained to Britain's OK! magazine: "I work out but I am certainly not any kind of fitness fanatic. I work out and exercise because I have to, definitely not because I want to. I enjoy eating and have a weakness for salmon. I also have a weakness for potato chips, hence the need to work out."
