Cattrall fights good fight for older actresses

Kim Cattrall wants to look her age.

The 53-year-old 'Sex and the City' actress insists she has no interest in undergoing cosmetic procedures in order to halt the effect of aging on her features, but admits she is blessed with good genes.

She said: "I don't want to look 19. I don't want to look as perfect and beautiful as the fabulous Carey Mulligan. I like the way I look. And when I look at my mum I have less to be frightened of - I am blessed with her cheekbones, and those help."

Kim is so annoyed at the attention paid to older actresses, she even wants to launch a campaign to stop famous women having their beauty judged against their age.

She added: "I think Helen Mirren, Judi Dench and Janet Suzman look fabulous, full stop. I hate the way people qualify 'you look good' by adding 'for your age'. I am on a campaign against that."

However, while she is comfortable with her appearance, Kim admits she went on a diet before reprising her role as Samantha in the second 'Sex and the City' movie.

She added to You magazine: "Going back to play Samantha - with the story line I have - I wanted to look really fit. I lost 10lbs by eating a little less over three months, and I have kept it off."
