Next Kasabian release almost in the bag

Kasabian have written most of their next album.

The group – who released last LP ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ earlier this year – have been working hard on “beautiful” new tracks but fans won’t get to hear them for some time due to their touring commitments.

Frontman Tom Meighan revealed: “I think Sergio’s got a body of work already, its very ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, Pink Floyd, very essential and very beautiful, piano-based songs that sound beautiful, you know, and we’re going to really grunge them up a bit.

“Yeah, Sergio’s got a load of work already, so we’re nearly there, but we’ve just got to go and take ‘West Ryder’ round the world and show it to people.”

The singer also spoke about his love for Oasis and revealed how seeing the ‘Live Forever’ hitmakers for the first time “changed his life”.

He added to Dabbl.co.uk: “I went to see Oasis in Manchester when I was 17 with Serge, and that changed my life because it was right in the middle of when their big hit come out and Oasis were absolutely massive, you know, super-massive, and it just took my breath away.

“That changed my life, looking at them as rock stars, and I was just absolutely gobsmacked and blown away.”
