Eminem set for big-screen comeback

Eminem is set to return to the big screen with upcoming horror 'Shady Talez'.

The rapper-turned-actor - who previously starred in biopic '8 Mile' as himself - is preparing to star in the 3D anthology film, his first major movie role since 2002.

The movie is bound to be challenging work for the star, as he will play a different role in each of the three parts of the film.

Speaking of Eminem's acting prowess, music video director Joseph Hahn, who has made clips for the star's tracks 'We Made You' and 'Without Me' said: "Having worked with him so many times, the thing people don't realise is that he's a fantastic actor.

"He actually stays in character on set. He's a method actor, like Daniel Day Lewis."

As well as the film, the musician will also write a four-part comic book series for animators Marvel, to coincide with the release.

The script will be co-written by Eminem - real name Marshall Mathers - and 'Underworld' star Kevin Grevioux and 'I, Robot's John Davis is expected to co-produce.

The 37-year-old star last appeared in this year's comedy 'Funny People', where he made a cameo appearance as himself.

In 2005, Eminem axed a planned European tour to go to rehab. He recently revealed he almost died of a drug overdose during that time.

The hip-hop horror film is due for release next year.
