'Fine' Morrissey back on stage

Morrissey is making a return to the stage tonight, following his collapse mid-performance at the weekend.

The 50-year-old former Smiths singer was playing at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon, England, when the gig was cut short after a rendition of 'This Charming Man'.

Morrissey was taken to hospital suffering from breathing difficulties and was later discharged.

A spokesman for the Royal Albert Hall reassured fans that the singer was performing at the west London venue, saying: “He definitely wants to continue tonight.”

Onlookers described seeing Morrissey “straining” to perform on Saturday night and slumping to his knees. Two band members then rushed to his side and dragged him offstage.

The singer was also forced to postpone a show in Bournemouth last night, but a spokeswoman said he was now “rested and absolutely fine for tonight”.
