Strong performances in chilling ‘Triangle’

A strong horror film that follows the same repeating-loop pattern of ‘Groundhog Day’ (allowing for the fact that GD was a comedy), featuring a quite excellent central performance from George as a single mother with an unstable son who joins some friends on a yacht voyage.

The voyage becomes a nightmare when the boat sinks and the group is rescued by a passing cruise liner that isn’t quite what it seems … it’s deserted and terrible things keep happening, time after time after time.

Such a device isn’t new, but Smith does his best to find innovative ways in which to chill the blood and, largely, succeeds.
