Cage quits 'Green Hornet'

Nicolas Cage has pulled out of ‘Green Hornet’, it has emerged.

The Hollywood actor has confirmed he will not star alongside Cameron Diaz and Seth Rogen in the comedy crime movie following months of speculation he would be portraying the villain Mr X.

The Hollywood Reporter claim: “The actor and the studio were not able to come to terms on a deal.”

Movie bosses are now struggling to find a replacement as filming is well underway with a planned release in June next year.

Last month Cameron accepted the role of Lenore ‘Casey’ Case, a tenacious reporter romantically involved with masked crime fighter Britt Reid – played by funnyman Seth.

The blonde beauty said: "I'm in. I am making Michel Gondry's movie and I am very, very excited about it.

"Seth and Michel are awesome. We're having a really great time."

Cameron also revealed her character Casey - traditionally a sexy secretary - has been given an "extreme makeover".

She explained: "She'll have her own little differences. I'm going with Michel, because this is Michel's movie and Seth's movie. So, I'm playing the character that they wrote for us."
