REM to release highlights from Dublin shows

US rockers REM are to release a double album of songs recorded live during their five-night stint at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin two years ago.

The band played five nights of working rehearsals at the venue in July 2007.

The best moments from the shows are now set to be released as a two-CD album featuring 39 songs, including early versions of songs from the 2008 album 'Accelerate'.

It will also feature two songs that have only been performed live during the Dublin gigs.

The album is due to go on sale on October 26.
