Tointon keen for return to 'EastEnders'

Actress Kara Tointon wants to return to 'EastEnders'.

The actress - whose alter-ego Dawn Swann is leaving the BBC soap this week - is relieved Dawn has not been killed off as it means there is always the option to come back.

"I've learnt so much, and to have been killed off would have been my worst nightmare," she said. "My dream is to one day go back."

Dawn leaves Walford on a boat with daughter Summer and lover Garry Hobbs, played by Ricky Groves, and Groves is keen for there to be a spin-off series.

"It was a lovely finish," said Groves. "I wish it could have been a bit sunnier for us, though. It'd be great to do a spin-off series that follows Garry and Dawn's adventures."

Speaking about their final scenes, Tointon added: "I didn't want to go in the back of a black cab. But filming on that boat was so tricky. It's hilarious, them starting a new life with a tot on a six-metre-long boat!"
