Katona 'to face police questioning'

Kerry Katona faces police questioning over footage allegedly showing her taking cocaine when she returns from her holiday, sources said today.

The 28-year-old went to Tenerife earlier this week, after the News of the World published photographs and video material apparently showing her snorting the class A drug in her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

The reality star, who was dropped as the face of Iceland stores following the revelations, was pictured frolicking in a water park in a bikini.

Meanwhile, plain-clothed police officers were spotted at Katona’s family home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

A police statement said today: “Cheshire Police can confirm we visited an address in Wilmslow in connection with an ongoing matter.”

The mother-of-four’s spokesman declined to comment on the matter and also on when she was likely to be returning to this country.

Police sources said officers are planning to pay another visit to Katona when her holiday ends.

Katona’s former publicist Max Clifford yesterday urged her to “get a grip”.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, who has endured a long and public battle with alcohol and drugs, as well as a roller-coaster romantic life, fronted Iceland’s advertising campaigns for four years.

Yesterday the Daily Mail’s website reported that Katona’s ex-husband Brian McFadden was consulting lawyers about what arrangements could be made over his two children with Katona.

An interview with Katona on 'This Morning' last October earned her a large measure of notoriety as she slurred and appeared confused, though she later said this was due to medication she was taking for her bipolar disorder.

She has been the subject of several reality TV shows on MTV, most recently 'Kerry Katona: What’s The Problem?', charting her attempt to understand and come to terms with her mental illness.

Losing the six-figure Iceland contract will not help her financial troubles - last August she was declared bankrupt after failing to pay off a £417,000 (€483,925) tax bill and in May this year she told GMTV that she was “skint”.
