Future 'Apprentice' contestants to give up 'moral rights'

Future contestants on ‘The Apprentice’ will be forced to sign contracts giving up their “moral rights”.

The contract - which had been kept secret - states all candidates must allow themselves to be portrayed however the producers choose and will also be banned from publicly discussing the show’s host and mentor Alan Sugar.

While candidates appear on the show, they are forbidden from talking about the show on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

Contestants in previous series have complained about how they were edited in the show.

One of this year’s stars Lorraine Tighe said: “I came across as Mystic Meg rather than someone with a lot of experience in business.”

Even Sugar has also moaned about his own portrayal, saying: “My family don’t like the way I’m presented. I’m the villain all the time.”

However, producers TalkbackThames insisted: “Every effort is made to ensure the programme accurately reflects individuals and events that occur.”
