'Year One' naff and puerile

Director: Harold Ramis

Cast: Jack Black, Oliver Platt, Michael Cera

Cert: 15

If gross out – often quite disgusting – humour is your thing then this one will delight. Otherwise, forget it.

Black (Zed) and Cera (Oh) are a couple of knuckle-heads banished from their pre-historic tribe and sent on their way to experience life’s adventures.

If only they had managed to find any. Set aside the historic naffness of the plot, this ‘comedy’ simply doesn’t deliver enough laughs with what jokes there are puerile.
