Even if maths was your weakest subject in school you couldn’t fail to be intrigued by this stylish thriller in which four mathematicians are invited by a mysterious stranger, the Fermat of the title, to come to an isolated location the better to work on the world’s great enigma.
The four, who have never previously met, are locked in a room where they discover it shrinks as they fail to find the solution … why, and who clearly wishes them dead?
Ah, the terror of the old shrinking room, walls closing in, race against time … it’s all here, and it’s all quite gripping.
