Morrissey cancels another gig
Morrissey was forced to cancel yet another gig today after doctors warned he must not sing.
The star, who has just turned 50, called off a concert at London’s 02 Brixton Academy tomorrow night, the latest in a string of cancelled dates.
A statement from concert organisers said: “Morrissey is on continued doctor’s orders not to sing, to ensure a complete recuperation.”
Event organisers apologised to fans and advised them to hang on to their tickets for further announcements.
Morrissey, whose hits as The Smiths frontman include the song 'Still Ill', has already had to call off a show at the Troxy Ballroom in Mile End, east London, and a Salisbury City Hall gig.
Tour organisers are working to reschedule the cancelled dates.
Morrissey sang when he played a homecoming gig in Manchester last Friday to celebrate his 50th birthday.
He cracked jokes, shook hands and teased the crowd with the microphone.
