'Britain’s Got Talent' judges unearth 'worst singer in Britain'

Judges believe they may have unearthed the worst singer in the country during the 'Britain’s Got Talent' auditions, to be shown tomorrow.

Judges believe they may have unearthed the worst singer in the country during the 'Britain’s Got Talent' auditions, to be shown tomorrow.

Pudding factory worker David Watson, 51, from Hull, believes he has wasted the last seven years of his life, when he should have been on the singing circuit.

However, after performing 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight', Simon Cowell told him his singing was “so awful it is beyond description”.

Piers Morgan added that he could be “the worst singer in Britain”.

In a first for the show, Cowell and Morgan took their buzzers back.

Three farming friends, Sam Parris, 27, Bobby Barns, 18, and Lyle Burrough, 19, all from Exeter, are known as The Barrow Boys.

The three farmers described their act as “everything you shouldn’t do with a wheelbarrow”.

The two judges immediately buzzed as the group danced with their barrows, but then changed their minds as the act progressed.

A 73-year-old break dancer also impressed.

Fred Bowers from Loughborough received a standing ovation, with Cowell declaring: “This is why I love doing this show, because of people like you Fred, you were brilliant.”

With the last of the auditions having taken place, judges must select 40 acts to put through to the live semi-finals which start on Sunday, ahead of the grand final on Saturday next week.

'Britain’s Got Talent' airs tomorrow on ITV1 at 8.20pm for a 90-minute special.
