Midler plans odd duet with 50 Cent

The most bizarre duet ever could be on the cards - if Bette Midler gets her way with rapper pal 50 Cent.

Forget Bing and Bowie, Midler has struck up an unlikely friendship with the hip-hop star after they bonded on a project to save and clean up New York's green areas - and she admits she has musical plans for the odd couple.

She said: "It'll be the little Jewish lady and the great big rapper. He's such a doll. I love him. He's gorgeous."

Midler even has an idea for the sweet music they'll make together.

She told Eonline.com: "I was hoping we'd sing songs from the Depression."
