Batman wins big at Empire awards

Batman was the big winner at the 2009 Jameson Empire Awards in London as Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan were honoured for their parts in making 'The Dark Knight'.

The annual ceremony at the city's Grosvenor Hotel on last night celebrated the film industry's success stories of the year, with Empire magazine readers voting for the winners in all the major categories.
