Richardson ambulance turned away from ski resort
Questions have been raised over the initial response to Natasha Richardson’s fatal ski accident after it emerged today that the first ambulance sent to the injured actress was turned back.
Yves Coderre, director of operations at the emergency services company Ambulances Radisson, told Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail paramedics called to the incident were told they were not needed.
In a statement, the luxury Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec said its staff would “fully co-operate” with any investigation over the incident.
It has previously stated that a ski patrol “insisted” the actress should see a doctor.
It comes as a New York medical examiner confirmed Richardson died as a result of a blunt impact to the head.
A spokesman added the death was accidental.
He said: “Cause of death was epidural haematoma down to a blunt impact to the head.”
