Record audience for Irish episode of 'The Simpsons'
Around 511,000 viewers tuned in to watch 'The Simpsons' episode ‘In the Name of the Grandfather’ broadcast last night on Sky1.
This was by far the best ever audience achieved by Sky1 in Ireland, more than doubling its previous best audience.
In multichannel homes, the programme’s 33% audience share far exceeded the next highest rating programme ('Eastenders' on RTÉ 1 with a 13.5% share).
The 60.5% share of children watching was also a record for the channel as was the 40% share of 15-24 year olds’ audience.
Sky’s director of airtime sales, Richard Kelly said: “This is a fantastic result and confirms Sky1 as the home of The Simpsons in Ireland.”
