NY street temporarily named in honour of U2
U2 have had a street in New York temporarily renamed in their honour in recognition of their musical achievements.
West 53rd Street in Manhattan is being renamed U2 Way for a short period in homage to the Dublin band.
The four-piece are currently in New York for a week-long stint as the house band on 'The Late Show' with David Letterman.
The host is certainly getting his money's worth from the Irish rockers on his show this week after putting them to work on the streets outside his New York studio.
The group are making history by becoming the first act to play a week of shows on Letterman's long-running show, and they will be doing more than performing.
During Monday night's broadcast, Letterman had them shovelling snow from the pavement, and joked he would be giving them manual tasks all week.
He chuckled: "It'll be interesting to see if they can make it past Wednesday."
U2 are currently promoting their new album, 'No Line on the Horizon'.
