Korean film gives fun take on western style
Director: Ji-woon Kim
Cast: Kang-ho Song, Woo-sung Jung
Overlook the fact that it doesn’t really have a plot, you couldn’t not like this daft Korean film for its sheer energy and fun.
The story concerns itself, almost in passing, with three Korean outlaws in 1930s Manchuria dealing with Japanese, Chinese and Russians. But what they’re dealing with, for or about matters little when the film is packed with non-stop action.
It plays like an old-fashioned Western with enough chases – horses, motorcycles and trains – to keep you interested in what the daft characters are about.
