Harris and Fox file for divorce

British actress Emilia Fox and her husband Jared Harris have filed for divorce.

The couple has faced months of speculation surrounding the state of its union after Fox was spotted out without her wedding ring.

In November, pals of the pair told The Mail on Sunday: "They are not suited to each other. She is very successful and incredibly nice, whereas Jared is darker and more troubled."

A spokesperson for the couple refused to comment on the rumours at the time.

But, in legal documents filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, Harris filed his declaration, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, according to TMZ.com.

Fox met Harris, the actor son of Richard Harris, in 2003 after working together in West End show Les Liaisons Dangereuses. They wed in 2005 and have no children together.
