Josh Brolin was so desperate to star in a Gus Van Sant movie he travelled to the moviemaker's hometown hoping he'd be "discovered".
The actor, who features in Van Sant's 'Milk' biopic, admits to taking a trip to Portland, Oregon when Van Sant was making cult film My Own Private Idaho - just so he could be near his hero.
He tells Eonline.com: "What I was going to do was find Gus Van Sant and be discovered by him. Gus would see me on the street and go, 'Oh my God. That’s the guy. He’s perfect. Look at him'."
