Cast wasted in formulaic 'Four Christmasses'

Some cast that, though it’s disappointing to find so much talent in such an ordinary film about dysfunctional – and universally annoying – families.

In a film we have seen in many variations before Vaughn and Witherspoon play a couple who make up excuses to avoid spending the Yuletide festivities with their divorced parents until their annual escape is thwarted and they have to attempt to see each parent – plus new partners and decidedly odd and charmless off-spring – in one day.

It has its funny moments but too many of them have been nicked from other awful-families-at-Christmas movies to interest us.
