Another animation gem from Pixar, whose work gets more impressive with every new offering. It even manages to hand out a message without being preachy.

The title character is a beat-up robot (Burtt) whose function is to clean up the mess careless Earthlings leave around them … until even they find the place uninviting and depart, leaving our hero alone.

Until a neat little darling arrives and brings with her romance and they search for a way of getting the humans back. Like, why?

It’s a real charmer, clever and witty and so well realised that the long periods without dialogue are more than acceptable.
