Coldplay were left so stunned by a scathing critique of their last album 'X&Y' that they brought in producer Brian Eno to help them become the band they wanted to be.

The New York Times article suggested the British band were "the most insufferable" on the back of the 2005 album, prompting singer Chris Martin to take notice.
