Johansson denies premiere snub

Scarlett Johansson has denied she snubbed the premiere of Woody Allen's latest movie 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' because movie bosses refused to cater to her diva demands.

The blonde beauty - who stars in the new film alongside Penelope Cruz - was expected to grace the red carpet at the Cannes International Film Festival on Saturday, but was noticeably absent from the prestigious premiere.

Johansson was soon at the centre of rumours that movie chiefs at the French arm of Warner Bros Films - the production's distributors - denied her extravagant hospitality expectations, including a $8,000 a day make-up artist.

However, the actress has hit back at the claims, with her representative telling New York gossip column PageSix that she was only absent due to unavoidable "scheduling conflicts".
