Campbell to star in Ugly Betty

Supermodel Naomi Campbell is to follow in the footsteps of fellow fashion queen Victoria Beckham after accepting a cameo role in hit TV series 'Ugly Betty'.

The catwalk queen will play herself in the upcoming second series finale, according to the show's star Becki Newton.

The actress says: "She's going to be in our last episode, which is exciting.

"I've personally requested that I don't stand next to her because (my character) Amanda would not like to be seen with such a tall, pretty person."

Campbell was originally announced as a guest star last year, but the Hollywood writers' strike scuppered plans.

A spokesman for network ABC confirmed Campbell would be appearing in the show.

Beckham appeared on the show in November when she played a bridesmaid to Vanessa Williams' catty fashion boss character, Wilhelmina Slater.
