Depp wants to play Michael Jackson

Johnny Depp is hoping to play troubled pop star Michael Jackson in a movie of the singer's life.

The actor was rumoured to have modelled himself on Jackson for his role as Willy Wonka in 2005 movie 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'.

But although Depp believes any similarities to the pop superstar in his portrayal are purely coincidental, he would love to take on the role of the singer, insisting: "There is still time to play him."
