Halliwell denies making money from Spice tour

Geri Halliwell has quashed rumours the Spice Girls will receive $24m (€16m) each for their world tour, insisting they are unlikely to make any money.

The five piece were reportedly expected to receive the multi-million dollar fee to tour the world's major cities including Las Vegas, San Francisco and London.

But the singer refutes the claims.

She says: "The truth of the matter is, to put on this tour has cost $37m (€25m). We have done this purely to celebrate our fans, the music and ourselves.

"This is not a money-making expedition. It really isn't. Hopefully we will break even but it's never been about that. If we take home a pay cheque that's fantastic, but this is about party and celebration."
