MacLaine lavishes praise on Irish actor

Shirley MacLaine, in Belfast for the world premier of the city-set WW2 romance ‘Closing the Ring’, is full of praise for Belfast-born actor Martin McCann.

The premier saw Ms MacLaine, Mischa Barton, Martin McCann and director Lord Attenborough attend.

The film will be released on December 28.

The film has been a big break for McCann and Shirley said: “He has a beautiful on-screen presence.”

She is so impressed that she got him an agent and he’s now set to film with Steven Spielberg.
