Smith to play Karate Kid

Will Smith's actor son Jaden is set to revive the 'Karate Kid' franchise, two months after the 'Men In Black' star's publicists denied reports.

The young 'Pursuit Of Happyness' star is in talks with film executives about the role.

His proud father confirmed: "I met with a couple of people in China. We're looking to potentially shoot in China."

The original 'Karate Kid' films, starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, became cult family viewing in the mid-to-late 1980s. Oscar winner Hilary Swank starred in a fourth film, 'The Next Karate Kid' in 1994.
