Eagles sell signed guitars for charity

Rock veterans the Eagles have teamed up with US stores Wal-Mart and Sam's Club to raise money for charity by selling a limited number of autographed guitars.

Band members Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt have signed the Takamine guitars, which will retail online at SamsClub.com for $2,500 (€1,685) each.

All money raised will benefit non-profit organisation The Walden Woods Project, which preserves the land, literature and legacy of author/philosopher Henry David Thoreau.

The Eagles' recent US number one album 'Long Road Out Of Eden' was only available to buy in Wal-Mart and Sam's Club shops.
