Brown in a wheelchair

R&B star Bobby Brown has been confined to a wheelchair after twisting his ankle.

The 38-year-old singer injured himself last week during soundcheck for a show on the current New Jack Swing tour, which features the My Prerogative singer and R&B groups Toni, Tone, Tony and K-Ci And JoJo.

Brown was trying out a new dance manoeuvre when he landed on his ankle at an awkward angle.

His representative has assured fans Brown will fulfil his upcoming tour commitments, telling website TMZ.com: "He's doing great and will not disappoint. He's on track for his scheduled performances this weekend in Atlanta and Ohio."

Just last month, Brown denied reports he had suffered a mild heart attack, insisting he felt chest pains and a tingling in his arm, so went for a medical check-up and received a clean bill of health.
