Spears seeks extra visiting time with sons

Lawyers for US pop star Britney Spears have filed an emergency court motion seeking to expand visiting rights with her children, who she lost custody of last week.

Mark Vincent Kaplan, lawyer for Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline, said he received the motion yesterday and will be in court in Los Angeles today.

An after-hours call to Spears’ attorney was not immediately returned.

Spears was ordered on October 1 to relinquish custody of her children by a court commissioner who had raised concerns about drug and alcohol use.

Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon later granted some visitation rights to Spears, but required that a monitor must watch her while she’s with her sons, two-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James.
