The promoter of superstar Barbara Streisand's "sell-out" European tour in July is suing three agencies over thousands of seats that went unsold.

The tour, Streisand's first in more than a decade, was much hyped, with ticket prices ranging from $150 (€108)) to $1200 (€865). It was claimed the demand for tickets was so great, they were being sold online for more than twice their face value.

But promoters AEG Live claim almost $2m (€1.4m)-worth of tickets went unsold. The company is suing agencies in the Netherlands, US and UK for failing to pay compensation on unsold seats.

AEG has issued a writ in London's High Court for $1.9m (€1.4m)) plus interest.
