'Black Snake Moan' quirky and yet intriguing

Craig Bewer’s ‘Black Snake Moan’ (Paramount, €24.99) is strange, quirky and yet intriguing — as nympho Rae (Christina Ricci) finds herself beaten and left for dead.

Enter Lazarus (Samuel L Jackson), who decides to help her out — by chaining her to a radiator until she repents her evil ways.

Will Lazarus succeed in his unusual approach before Rae’s boyfriend Ronnie finds her?

A strong blues soundtrack runs throughout and is spotlighted among the extra features, which also include feature commentary and deleted scenes with optional commentary.
