Tarrant branded 'wife beater'

Chris Tarrant has been shamed as a wife beater by his furious ex, Ingrid.

The presenter split from the 52-year-old blonde in September after reports of a seven-year affair with another woman.

Tarrant allegedly claimed he cheated because Ingrid wouldn't have sex with him.

Now the scorned wife has retaliated by recalling their marriage, which she claims was shattered when Chris punched her in the face when she confronted him about his infidelity.

She said: "It was in front of the kids, our son Toby and my daughter Fia. They were both screaming and I was hysterical."

It's not the first time reports about violence related to the cult TV host - in May he was cautioned by police after throwing an item of cutlery at a fellow diner in an Indian restaurant.
