Prince to build 'home in the dome'
Pop superstar Prince is in talks to build a house within the grounds of a London concert venue, according to reports.
The 'Purple Rain' star is alleged to have requested a five-bedroom abode be built at the 02 Arena - formerly known as the Millennium Dome - in the Docklands area of the city.
It is understood the site's owner, AEG, will cover the cost of the construction for Prince, who plans to use the home as a UK base.
A source told British newspaper the Daily Mail: "Prince's people approached (real-estate vendors) with the idea a few months ago. He has some pretty wild nights out in London and loves all that the capital has to offer, so it makes sense for him to have a more permanent base here.
"And with the Docklands increasingly becoming a trendy place to live, he obviously wants to capitalise on this.
"Plus, with more and more gigs and events being held at the O2, he will always be a stone's throw away from the action. Yes, it is a bit extravagant, but then again this is Prince we're talking about."
