50 Cent credits son with crime u-turn

Rapper 50 Cent credits his son Marquis for making him abandon his life of crime and focus on writing his music.

The 'In Da Club' hitmaker learned from his late mother Sabrina's mistakes, who had him when she was only 15.

He says: "My little boy is my motivation. He's really the reason why I had a real firm focus on writing music. It's weird that my mom went in the opposite direction when I was born.

"She didn't see welfare as an option, so she started to hustle and the things that came with that lifestyle. And she ended up being killed in that situation."

The rapper, real name Curtis Jackson, was only eight when his mother was murdered.
