BB 'sinners' named and shamed

There was hell to pay in the Big Brother house when Carole had to nominate which of her fellow housemates were the biggest sinners.

In a weekly task to make the blood boil, the 53-year-old had to choose which housemate was guilty of each of the seven deadly sins – sloth, gluttony, greed, pride, lust, envy and wrath.

At stake is a luxury shopping budget to tantalise the housemates’ tastebuds after spending a week eating slop on Big Brother’s orders.

By ’sloth’, Big Brother meant the housemate who spent the most time lounging around the House.

Laura got Carole’s vote. “What’s sloth anyway?” laughed Laura.

Greed signified the housemate who put their own needs first. Carole chose Tracey, who just sat open-mouthed and shocked.

The gluttonous housemate – most guilty of overeating – was Ziggy.

“I can’t deny that” he sighed.

When it came to lust, Liam topped the list.

“It’s not true, it’s a dirty lie,” he sniggered.

Teenage twin Amanda was dumbstruck to be nominated as the proudest housemate, despite spending the most time looking in the mirror.

Nicky remained cool and shrugged off her new title as the most envious housemate, meaning she envied other housemates instead of being content with herself.

Carole’s final nomination was hardly a surprise. Charley simply hung her head and laughed as she was nominated for the sin of wrath. That meant she was the housemate who argued and shouted the most.

If housemates prove themselves to be saintly and pass the task, they will receive a luxury food budget for all.

The task kick-started an otherwise uneventful Sunday morning in the Big Brother compound.

Housemates were dozing in the lounge when Big Brother made an announcement: “Could the most insightful housemate please come to the Diary Room.”

Gerry, Carole and Jonathan tried to elbow each other out of the way before teenage data entry clerk Brian vaulted over furniture in a vain attempt to win.

“I’m the most insightful,” Brian cried, trying to wrestle Carole and Jonathan out of the way.

“You two don’t know nowt. I know stuff about popular culture and youth culture and that.”

But Carole fought off the other housemates to take control of the task.

Later proud Amanda was summoned to the Diary Room to find out her part in the task, only to emerge dressed as a giant hot dog.

As punishment for her pride, she has been ordered to wear the outfit at all times and abstain from looking in mirrors.

The most wrathful housemate, Charley, was told she mustn’t show anger, raise her voice or scream.

“That’s not fair, I wanted an outfit,” Charley replied.
